Comfortable, Great-Sounding, and Reliable Headphones

Love these over-ear headphones! I was super happy with these for a couple of reasons. First, they sound great to me! I don’t like that word Audiophile, but I am an audio-enthusiast and they meet my approval. That says something about the sound quality. The noise cancelling and ambient noise settings are great. You have to download the phone app to access those features. Next, I can’t stand an earphone that does not fully surround my ears. These are perfect! The ear cups are super soft and they fully cover my ears making a nice comfortable and lightweight fit. They are minimalist in terms of design and feel quite sturdy. They fold for a smaller profile and come with a sturdy hard case. Wireless connects easily with no trouble.Pros:Excellent sound quality (approved by an audiophile)Effective noise cancelling and ambient noise modesSoft, comfortable over-ear cupsLightweight and sturdy buildFoldable design with hard case includedEasy wireless connectivityConsiderations:App required to access noise control features

Competitive sound; subpar everything else

Sound Quality: These are the best part of the headphones. That doesn't mean it's great. Using the app allows you some customization on the EQ which helps a little. The soundstage is very narrow. This causes the sound to sometimes come out tinny or muffled depending on what is preeminent (highs, mids or lows). Plugged in 3.5mm > bluetooth. ANC works fantastic.Connectivity: It pairs fast enough and does remember your pairing. The distance is atrocious. Stepping 6 feet away from my computer already starts making it disconnect. On my phone it's a little better and is around 10 feet before the signal starts disconnecting.Comfort: They do feel snug on the head. They are heavy. I can't have them on for prolonged periods of time without feeling the weight on top of my head and on my ears. The padding on top is nonexistent. A laughable amount of force makes them cave in. The faux leather of the ear cups feel insular for the sound but trap a lot of heat. These are definitely not for the gym. Maybe airport travel with the anc and long battery life. If you have big ears that stick out the ear cups do not have significant depth.Quality: The build quality does feel nice, sturdy and compact. Everything is made of a nice hard plastic and the finish on the earcups pays homage to leather. The adjustments on the headphone slider are clicky which helps you notice how far you've gone on the headphone and feel good.Functionality: They work well as headphones. The bluetooth/anc and volume buttons work great. You do need an app for your phone (edifier connect) to harness the eq and other settings. The Edifier tempohub for PC/MAC does not support this headphone yet. The mic on this is ATROCIOUS. Picks up so much background noise and your voice is worse for it. They promote this 4x4 AI mic solution. Just not true. If your voice isn't disconnecting it will come with the occasional tinny/buzzing and make the receiver want to hang up on you. This was tested on an iPhone and computer. If you have something like Nvidia broadcast or discord krisp that will definitely help negate some of the background noise issues. Do not expect to use this for phone calls though especially if you are outside.Value for money: At $199.99 this is a hard sell. There's so many competitors that do what edifier does better and with a richer support/offering within this price range. Hopefully they can implement a solution to the horrible mic, invest in a better top padding and rework the drivers and software to help with the soundstage.

no problem on 8hrs flight

Beautiful headset with a clean and premium look. The sound profile is rich and well-balanced, making music and movies sound excellent. The ear cushions are incredibly soft and comfortable. I wore them for an 8-hour flight with no discomfort. Battery life is impressive too, lasting the entire trip with ANC turned on. The active noise canceling works well to block out background noise, and the travel case is a nice bonus. For the price, this headset feels like a high-end option without breaking the bank.

These headphones are exceptional especially if you frequent noise areas and want to focus/listen to music/podcasts.The noise cancelling is amazing - Was using these in a boiler room with a dozen booming/banging/whirling sounds and even without music playing, just noise cancelling on, it really silences it out to a barely noticeable hum; add on your music and its like you're in a blackout room.Muffs are comfortable on the ears, even if you're wearing goggles and glasses - no pressure on the templates or deforming your glasses. Headband is made of a poofy foam which will deform to your head while staying extremely comfortable. The band is made of a nice brushed metal for a premium look; Overall headphones look sleek - not oppressive like DJ muffs nor too slim like those minimalistic ones - good balance. The headphones somewhat fold down which will fit nicely into the provided semi-hard case for protection but are still fairly bulky compared to ones that fold completely (think shooting ear muffs)Sound:The quality on the bass and treble is good, feels like it hits highs and lows at a competitive level; bass can always be heavier but these are great for the price.Kit comes with charging cables and jacks to convert to sound systems or airplanes.headphones (by themselves) weighed in at 299g which to me are fairly lightweight.Bluetooth was very strong; was going in and out of rooms through 3 stories and it held up well. One feature I found was especially cool was the ambient sound option which allows the headphones to bring in the noise of your environment (think open back headphones) so if you need to listen to music BUT be able to listen to someone call for you that's a great setting to have on.5 Star highly recommend to anyone who wants to drown out the environment with quality tunes.

High quality headphones

These headphones are some of the best headphones I have ever used. The sound was clear and noise canceling was superb. They were extremely easy to pair to my android phone. As soon as I turned them on, they were in pairing mode and my phone instantly recognized them. I downloaded the Edifier ConneX app, and it made adjustments to the noise canceling and sound super easy. They fold nicely and store in the included storage box. Bluetooth is strong. I was able to roam around my 3 story home without loosing the signal. Buy them! You won't be disappointed.

For the price, these headphones are just ok. The ANC is not good, and the padding is very thin, which makes them uncomfortable. The build quality and sound are excellent and the customer service is great, but for headphones that are 200 retail, there is much left to be desired.

I want to give these Edifier headphones a better rating, but it's not possible. The pairing with my phone was as expected, quick and painless. The sound is clear with enough bass and treble to accommodate the average user of these headphones. The battery life is quite good. However, that's all I can say that's good about these headphones. Opening the app on my phone shows the list of products that you choose from. I clicked on these headphones from that list and that's as far as it goes. It tries to connect but nothing happens. This app doesn't work and, therefore, I cannot change any settings to improve my listening experience. When outside with headphones and with a little bit of wind, the noise cancellation does not work well enough to eliminate that. It gets worse as wind speeds pick up. It drowns out almost all the sounds coming from the headphones. This makes the headphones unusable outside my home. When taking phone calls, either inside or outdoors, the caller's voice is muddled and a bit hallow sounding. This makes it hard to understand what they are saying. Instead, I have to answer calls using my phone instead of the headhones. This pair of headphones are not the lightest and feel heavy on my head. The ear pads could be a little firmer as they feel too soft for comfort. These would be decent headphones if it weren't for the unusable app and. I might put some tape over the microphone ports to reduce the wind noise, but will probably only use it indoors, if at all.

Worth every dollar

I could write a long review but I will just say that it is the very best headphones I’ve ever owned. I own Bose, and B&O and these blow them out of the water. Spatial Audio is insane. Worth every dollar.

Excellent Headphones From Edifier!

Excellent headphones! Edifier just keeps delivering with the Bluetooth headphone and speaker offerings. The sound quality is fantastic. They have rich, deep bass and excellent mid/treble clarity. The overall fit and finish is fantastic and they are infinitely comfortable. I often forget that I’m wearing them. Overall, I’d highly recommend these headphones from Edifier!

Very strong low-mid tier ANC headphones

These are actually really strong for the price point. The sound quality is decent (though it does lack a little bass in my opinion), the ANC is good (maybe around 70% of Airpods ANC), and the transparency mode is... well, it's there, but all it really does is make everything sound more tinny, and it doesn't really assist in hearing at all.The build quality is okay, it's nowhere near as good as some more expensive headphones, but for this price point the plastic build isn't bad. There's no creakiness or anything like that, and they do feel relatively solidly built, with a pretty average weight. The headband is basic but comfortable, and the ears extend far enough to cover my rather large head. The battery life honestly doesn't quite hit the marketed 80 hour mark, but it's solid, lasting me a few days of regular to light use no problem. For this price you could get a pair of AirPods Max, and honestly, if you have an iphone I may actually nudge you towards those just because of the difference in ANC. However, overall I think I'd recommend these if you really prefer over ear headphones, or if you have an android device especially.

Not great for calls

I got his primarily to be able to use for working from home and being able to take calls and use during web meetings. The microphone picks up my voice very clearly but the main issue is that there is no way to allow ambient noise when the microphone is on. So when I talk, it sounds like I'm under water and is very disorienting. The second my call ends, the ambient noise setting turns back on and it feels like a 100 lbs of pressure has been removed from my head. I downloaded the Edifier Connex app which has equalizers, but there is nothing to resolve this issue. For listening to music and videos this sounds great. The battery life is good. It allows for two sources to be connected to it at the same time. The padding is soft and feels like a high end device. This is a great headset if you're using it just for music and trying to block out the world. I'm really hoping there will be a firmware update to allow ambient mode during calls which would really make this a 5 star device. For now, I don't recommend it especially if you need it to make calls.

Sturdy build; ANC is worse than Soundcore Q30 which is 1/4 the price.

I previously used the Soundcode Life Q30 by Anker. The Q30 headband plastic is so bad that it started snapping in multiple places without too much force. And of course you cannot find spare parts.I naturally looked for an upgrade and all the reviews were pointing to these Edifier WH950NB (although 4x the price). The most important thing I was looking for was noise cancelling and then sturdiness.Good Thing: they feel more sturdy than the Q30.Bad, disappointing thing: The noise cancellation, although set at maximum is worse than the cheaper Anker Q30. I played a song on my PC that has a subwoofer. The Q30 could eliminate the subwoofer noise completely while dimming the voices as well. (cannot eliminate dynamic non repeating sounds entirely). The WH950 could not remove the low subwoofer sound completely. The other sounds were dimmed like on the Q30. I even pressed them onto my ears to make sure a tight seal was formed - did not help.Did the same test with a box fan. The WH950 cancelled less sound than the Q30.Conclusion: Overall, the Active noise cancelling is weaker than the Soundcore Q30 which is 1/4 the price - however it (Q30) has awful plastics.I also think the sound quality was a little better on the Q30 - you could hear better low frequency sounds. - probably that is why it can cancel low frequency noises better than the 950.

Edifier Is a Fantastic Brand!

I've come to appreciate what goes into Edifier's product lineup, and this ANC Hi-Res entry is definitely included. First, the headset design is simplistic. No complicated external bevels, edging, etc....just purposeful, and the color scheme is fantastic! The ear and head pads are very comfortable and cushioned, and after about 4 hours of wearing them listening to everything from music to youtube videos, I never had the feeling of ear fatigue or pressure around the auricles. The button placement is well done as it typically follows Edifier's standard layout. Along with the aesthetic, this feature is also simplistic and doesn't require any weird hand contortion to turn on the headphones, adjust volume or change ANC settings. You'll need to remember a few commands for various needs (e.g., next/previous song, play/pause, answer/hang up calls, etc.) but muscle memory will take over after a few tries.Sound wise....it's an Edifier...what do you expect? It's great! Edifier has a way of producing clean, smooth and fluid audio. Your highs are crisp and defined with punch where expected, while your mids come through clearly and blend well, while not overshadowed by bass or highs. The bass is also present. In all modes (ANC, transient or normal), it comes through amazingly well and doesn't overshadow any other frequencies. And, using their app (which is - like everything else with this headset - nicely simple), you can adjust your sound preference and even customize your own. Personally, I like a little deeper bass and this setting does well for my expectations. Again, I get the boom, kick, thump and rumbles without any other frequency drowning out.The ANC feature is really good, but in truth, you really don't need to turn it on in most circumstances. Just regular listening with the additional bass did more than enough to silence any background noise...and that was between 50 - 60% volume.Overall, they're a solid pair of headphones with a price point that fits.

Excellent Quality, Great Sound

These headphones are probably the best I've ever used. Great sound quality with a great range - hearing things I've never heard from my regular earbuds. Noise cancelling is great and while I didn't use the app, I was able to easily pair the device both to my windows computer & my android phone. The multipoint switching isn't the quickest I've used, but it's stable and it will switch automatically based on what is playing sound. The headphones were very comfortable and I was able to wear them for a long period of time without any discomfort. Great for movies, music, audiobooks, etc. I haven't tried the 3.5mm jack yet, but I'm sure the sound will be solid through a wired connection as well.

Comfortable to wear and lovely sound quality for many different purposes

I ordered these headphones in ivory, and it's such a nice shade- very neutral and clean looking! I am beyond impressed with the charging capability of these beauties. In a flash, these are fully charged again and ready to be used and enjoyed. These are comfortable to wear and adjust easily to accommodate most head sizes. Now, for the sound quality- I am pleased and am a fan of this brand. I have another speaker by them that's equally impressive. The immersive surround sound is a cool feature while watching movies. When I use these for calls, they're very clear and eliminate background noise like wind, cars, street noise, etc. Music sounds lovely on these- you have 40mm drivers that give you great quality sounds.
