Not bad for the money. The sound quality is just slightly lacking when compared to competitions in this size category like Bose and Sony. The sound is a bit bass heavy in music mode, and unfortunately does not have EQ in the connected app to create a sound profile.I would recommend this speaker for sure, to anyone who just wants likes a bit bass heavy music and not fidget with the sound settings. It is also very nice looking and the materials feels great! I have hooked this up to my record player and it sounds great, even when the volume is low.Would love to see the app capabilities expanded with updates in the future to perfect this little speaker.

Very Good Speaker

This ES60 Edifier speaker was ordered 19 June 2025, delivered 21 June 2025, and arrived safe and sound. This is a small speaker full of good sound. It is well made and sturdy The Bluetooth connects easy, with good conductivity. The speaker does not have an aux in, TF card. or USB flash drive port. It will take audio input through it's USB C port. The sound quality is very good for its size. It has plenty of volume for inside use and limited outside. I enjoy listening to this speaker and recommend it to you.

Interesting new speaker option, great sound for the size.

Edifier is an interesting company with a somewhat schizo product portfolio offering of budget offerings and some premium offerings. Edifier is actually one of the original chi-fi companies and even owns STAX which makes multi thousand dollar headphones. Over the years I've reviewed several of their products from the good sounding nicely built D20 desktop speaker, to cheap budget noise cancelling headphones, to the not so great MP230. After getting the similar looking MP230 I hoped this new model was better. Both speakers ape the Marshall look, the ES60 pretty much matches Marshall in built quality, the MP230 feels like a cheap knock off. As for sound quality, unlike the MP230 this was impressive for its size, it matches the more expensive Marshall middleton and comfortably exceeds great sounding smaller speakers like Bose Flex. It reminds me most of the Klipsch Nashvile which has similar design and size. I am happy to say it has one of the features I value most, the ability to pair to two devices at once. It is not perfect, here are a few negatives. Dual pairing requires using the Edifier app, of which there are two apps in the store only one of which works with this speaker. A bluetooth connect button would solve this. Second problem is waterproofness, IP66 is not great most speakers that compete with this are IP67 or IP68. This speaker can not be submerged like most others. The last issue is price. 200 dollars would be the price I'd expect from a major brand not Edifier. You can get more portable and durable options from major players for much less, or a much more powerful boombox from Doss, Anker or Tribit for less that will produce more sound. Looking into this speaker, when it was released in Asia a couple months ago the price was much more attractive, so maybe it will go on sale. Overall I like this speaker, its an interesting tweener speaker that really sounds great but is only a bit larger and heavier than the common 16oz can style and provides much better sound.

Decent speaker, expensive though

The good - Speaker sound signature is pretty good. The light ring around the bottom is bright and modern looking. The build quality seems very well made. The bad - JBL Charge 6 sounds better for the same price and slightly smaller size, louder and deeper bass and it has app EQ support with a better overall sound. For it's size this Edifier speaker sounds good. For it's price? Nah you can get much bigger room filling sound from other speakers like the Earfun U Boom X or the Tribit Stormbox Blast. Both have way more volume and bass with better sound. They are also much larger. The speaker cabinet vibrates wildly without actually converting those vibrations into bass you can hear. The Charge 6's cabinet was specially designed and iterated over the years to deliver that bass. This is not really a 360 degree speaker although it does have back firing speakers. However the sound from the back and front are not the same. The sound from the back is more muffled whereas the sound from the front is both louder and clearer. At max volume the bass is right on the edge of distortion if not slightly distorting. Most speakers do this including the Charge 6. However at max volume the Charge 6 also gets way louder. The charging speed in was an incredibly low 2watts. I just reviewed a $30 speaker that was charging in at 4watts. The Charge 6 charges at 15 or 25 watts I forget, but it's much faster.TLDR - This is a decent sounding speaker if you want to spend $200, but there are much better for the price. The Charge 6 is a better performer for the same price and roughly the same size. The Earfun UBOOM X and Tribit Stormbox Blast are bigger but get way louder with a ton more bass for less money or the same price. The sound from the front and back speakers aren't the same, the front sounding much better. The light bar is bright and modern looking.

Best speaker for a small room.

It sounds amazing for it footprint since is kinda small, enough for a bedroom or any close space. The materials are top, I love the quality of the sound, balanced but you can modify it to your liking with the app. When it comes to versatility, you can connect via Bluetooth with up to 2 devices + 1 more via USB-C (laptop in my case).I'm more than happy with my purchase.

Good speaker, has the room to be further improved

The sound quality is good. The building quality is good. The size is a little bit larger than the Bose Soundlink Home. Hope the manufacturer can reduce the size in the next version. There is no sync of the volume control when it is used as a PC speaker which is not convenient.

Looks nice and well built but sound could be better

Product books well built. The built-in light is a nice feature. I wish there were better controls for equalization. Sound is better than average but not great. Even though it has nice base response I felt the highs were over emphasized.

Good bass and clear sound

WOW! Great sound with good bass (relative to its size). Very well balanced warm sounding speaker. The high, mid and low frequencies are all discernible. The music fills my garage with the volume turned up just 25%. Very loud and capable speaker. The battery lasted a long time with each charge. For what I paid, it is well worth it. Bluetooth connected easily and hasn’t disconnected once yet, though my phone was only a few feet away. Definitely recommend this!!!

Good sound, but frustrating usability flaws—especially around charging

I really wanted to love the Edifier ES60—it delivers nice audio performance for the price: clean mids, punchy bass, and Bluetooth works well. That said, some serious design choices hold it back. Here are the things that are most frustrating:1. USB-C audio input is much quieter than BluetoothWhen I plug in via USB-C, the volume is noticeably lower than using Bluetooth. It’s usable in quiet settings, but for anything louder or ambient noise, it fails. Bluetooth delivers much more volume and clarity, which is unfortunate, since I want to use wired when possible (for lower latency and best sound quality).2. Microphone input does NOT work when using the USB-C for audio. The mic only works in Bluetooth mode. Unfortunately, the user manual does not specify this, leaving the user to troubleshooting potential connection issues or contact support.3. Charging behavior / “charging bug”By far the most frustrating issue: once the battery gets to 100%, the ES60 stops charging and doesn’t automatically resume when the USB-C cable is still plugged in. If the battery drops a little (say after being idle or used a bit), it won’t start charging again unless you physically unplug the USB-C cable and plug it back in.- Most modern Bluetooth speakers don’t behave this way. They implement what’s often called “float charge” or “top-off” mode: once the battery is full, the charger cuts off or reduces to trickle. If the battery self-discharges a bit, the device will detect that and automatically resume charging without human intervention.- In contrast, the ES60 demands this manual reset every single time it drops from full. That makes “always plugged in” or “leave it on charge while using it” situations super annoying. As noted above, the user manual does not explain this behavior, leaving users to troubleshoot potential connection issues on their own or contact support for help.If Edifier corrects these issues through a firmware update - especially #3 - then I would highly recommend this speaker. Until then, you may want to look elsewhere.

I got this to use as a computer speaker for my laptop. It has USB-C source input which is what i wanted, but the speaker doesn't stay on, need to turn it on to use it, so the USB-C isn't useful as an input, might as well use the bluetooth.Sound quality is not bad, but not enough bass, feels muffled too, even with the app adjustments. Im comparing it to a 10 year old Bose Soundlink Mini, and the Bose is much better. It is a nice speaker, its loud, room filing sound and the ambient light is a nice touch. However id opt to get Bose or JBL, even if it costs a little more.Build quality is top notch though!

Very nice loud speaker!

This is a great speaker! Easy to charge, easy to turn on and easy to use the buttons. It's also loud. Hooks up to my phone with no problem. I use this thing all over outside. Even comes with a little cord to attach to the side to carry around. I really am impressed with how loud it can play.

Excellent Speaker!

Excellent speaker! I love the aesthetic of these speakers from Edifier. It sounds just as fantastic as it looks. The ES60 really punches above its weight! It has excellent detail and clarity with its dual tweeters and the oval-shaped mid-bass driver delivers rich, warm bass in conjunction with the matching passive radiator on the back. The ES60 would make a perfect nightstand speaker or even a small bookshelf. Do yourself a favor and get a second ES60 to make a stereo pair. That’s what I did and I’m thrilled with how they sound in stereo! My only gripe is that the battery does not last as long as I’d like. It probably plays for about 4-5 hours at higher volume and 6-8 hours at medium volume. Overall, I think the ES60 from Edifier is a fantastic speaker and I’d highly recommend it to others. I truly think Edifier is a hidden gem in the portable Bluetooth speaker market. Keep up the great work, Edifier!

A premium portable speaker for your pool and shower

This beast gets pretty loud! I mostly listen to rap and house music, and the bass and mid are perfect outdoors and indoors. I have used it mainly while showing and at the pool, and it serves this purpose perfectly. I love the lanyard provided, as well, as it gives much-needed support while carrying it around. However, one concern I have about the speaker is that the plastic cover around the buttons for controls sometimes becomes loose, which, from a cosmetic standpoint, isn't ideal. It does not affect functionality at all, but it looks odd for such a premium speaker.

Awesome, High Quality BT Speaker

These are unbelievable. The sound quality is fantastic - loud, crisp, and clear. The build quality is solid with high quality materials and I love the slightly retro look of the speakers. There are front and rear speakers which is awesome - definitely better than the equally expensive Bose set that I have. Pairing is easy and the battery life is great.

Small but mighty!

This is a really nice quality speaker- it's built well and just feels nice! This speaker was so easy to set up! There is an app that you can use to control sound preferences and bluetooth connectivity to various devices. This speaker is small in size but mighty in performance! I love the sound quality and my ability to control things from across a room. This speaker is a great value for your money considering how nice it looks, sounds, and feels even in the hand! Comes with a charging cord and cord to attach to the speaker for easier carrying. The lighting is a cool bonus feature.
