I'm saying 2-stars as "below average" This speaker is good for possibly sitting on your desk & playing background music while you work, but it will not fill an even modest sized room. I returned this and spent the extra $100 and got the Edifier ES300. Now THAT is a great speaker. This one? Looks cool, well put together, but it has no umph.
iPhone and Mac users, don't waste your time with this product. It is not AirPlay compatible, despite what the specs say. It does work over Bluetooth, but the sound is hopelessly muddled in the bass and there are no equalizer options. There are equalizer options in the Edifier app if you plug your Mac or phone directly into the device but the preset sound profiles are indistinguishable, and the custom controls are a joke. Remember the old bass and treble knobs that cheap stereos used to have? It's worse than that. It's too bad. The unit itself looks pretty good and seems solidly built. Hard pass.
Customers praise this retro-styled speaker's "amazing" premium build quality and "brutal" sound with deep bass. Most love the vintage wood-grain aesthetic and multiple connectivity options. However, some report harsh titanium tweeters, recessed midrange, limited room-filling volume, and compatibility issues with AirPlay and the app.
- This speaker screams premium! Even at max volume it didn't distort.
- The sound quality is BRUTAL, with incredible bass and clarity that excites.
- Superb sound quality; clear highs, rich mids, and solid bass that really fills the room.

I was seeking an amplified speaker, with no battery, to use with Ocean Digital WR-800 FM internet radio. I was seeking a good speaker with auto standby and wake modes, including on the 3.5 mm AUX.- The Edifier S300 is a handsome unit and seems well made.- The dials and switches have solid feedback.- The volume dial has sufficient increments at the quiet end.- It sounds good, though the bass exaggeration in default "Dynamic" mode is not to my liking. I'm happier with the flat "Monitor" setting, selected in the app. It can play loudly without distortion.- The app is fine, but won't use landscape orientation on iPad.- The smaller drivers are left/right stereo channels, but stereo separation is minimal and there is NO sound stage.- Wireless connections to the speaker work well enough and at reasonable distances.- The speaker takes a disappointing 10 seconds to sound from power ON (e.g., AUX is already active).- My remote control CANNOT turn the speaker on when the power switch is in the OFF position. I can power on the speaker with the remote ONLY IF the power switch is in the ON position and the speaker was previously turned off via the remote control.- The speaker draws 0.7 watts when the power rocker switch is in the OFF position, though I don't know why as I see no app or remote control power-on capability. When using Airplay/BT the speaker consumes 3 watts at low volume; it will move to 1W standby mode after a 15-minute silent period (though the power indicator light stays on).- When playing AUX at low volume, it uses 3 watts as well, yet the speaker never enters standby mode and continues drawing 3 watts indefinitely.- The remote is otherwise fit for purpose and I appreciate the tiny red key-press indicator light.I purchased it with a coupon at around $350, which I think is too much given that the remote can't power on from a switched-off state and there's no AUX auto-standby, but I'm likely to keep it as it is better than nothing.
Summary: Beautifully designed, modern speaker.Sound: This speaker is biased - it is not intended to produce reference sound. It is boosting the low's and there isn't any sort of tone adjustment possible that I've found. That said, people looking for a wireless speaker like this should not be expecting reference sound output. The good news is that music playback is wonderfully bassy while not being overwhelming. The mids & highs are both clear and accounted for, making music sound great. I should also mention this thing advertises 80w RMS - while I can't vouch for actual power output - this thing gets loud! Whether you are quietly playing background ambiance or cranking up tunes for a party, this speaker will handle it with ease.Design: As mentioned, I find it quite beautiful. Although the "wood" casing is probably just a veneer, I love that modern retro look. In my opinion, Edifier delivered a speaker which will actually improve the ascetic of the room/shelf it sits in. This thing is hefty, by the way, even given that it's foot print is pretty small.Function: After plugging it in I was able to easily pair via Bluetooth from a few different devices. I'm very happy to see the speaker supports the LDAC codec, providing the highest resolution audio over Bluetooth 5.4 currently available. In addition, there are USB-C and 3.5mm input jacks on the back, opening up some additional uses, although I expect most people will stick with Bluetooth for convenience. The buttons on front are fully functional and delightfully tactile. Oh, I almost forgot to mention there is a remote included - a nice touch. Conclusion: This product fits a specific niche - if you want a speaker that looks beautiful and can fit right in next to upscale decor or a retro theme, and this is in your budget, I expect you will be very happy with the result. Happy listening.
I'm not an audio nerd, but occasionally we splurge and get something really nice.It was probably 20 years ago I got my wife a Bose Wave Radio. It was a lot of money for us at the time, but she really likes it. It was shocking how excellent of sound could come out of such a small little thing. Over the years we've occasionally bought more Bose products. This is like that. We sometimes play some audio on an iphone. It gets the job done. But pair the iphone to this, and WOW. I don't know that I'm qualified to say which is better (Bose Wave vs. this), but if I had to pick one, I'd probably pick this.Fit & finish is of course excellent. The retro styling gives it a timeless charactor.Note that the "black" is "black walnut", so it has visible wood grain - its not a simple true black. I'm not complaining, just mentioning in case you care.Do not think of this a $400 "bluetooth speaker". Think of it as a very high end speaker that offers several wired and wireless connectivity options. Some people would never consider spending this much on a device like this, but for those who would, this is worthy of your consideration.
I am not an audiophile and really don't understand or pickup on technical audio details. Normally, this prevents me from considering a speaker above a certain level but even as a person outside of that culture, this speaker was not lost on me.Appearance: the packaging is really nice. I mention this if you're considering this as a gift because it has extra touches like the instructions come in a fancy envelope, the packaging around the speaker itself was made from a nice dustcloth material (like the dustbag for a nice purse), etc. The speaker and remote have a wonderful aesthetic that is subtle but vintage. The power knob has a satisfying click and drag that really makes me think of older electronics. The volume knob feels a little less nice but I am not worried about it. More like comparatively it feels like the least nice knob. It comes with a type c to type c and a regular audio in. The power cord is about 6 feet long and not grounded. It also does not have a brick. The speaker is built nicely and is heavy. It feels high quality.Connection: I usually try to connect things without looking at the instructions because in my opinion, a nice speaker should be fairly intuituve and this one absolutely is. According to the instructions, it can be simultaneously connected to two devices. I connected it to my iphone as well as my Roku tv. The Roku tv took a couple of tries because I needed to hit the bluetooth button on the remote as soon as the tv started looking for a new device but once it connected, it was solid. The remote comes with batteries and it works great. It is my preferred way to control the speaker.Sound: I watched an episode of "Bewitched" and cranked the volume. The volume didn't leap too much as I turned the knob. It was very gradual. It never distorted. In one part of the episode, the husband uses a lighter and the sound of the lighter was very clear, even over the music of the episode and other sound effects. I was really impressed by how clear it was, despite other sounds going on. From my phone, I played a youtube video and it was very easy to hear. It did not seem like it got terribly loud but my bedroom is 12 x 10 so it felt loud enough for this space.Overall: really impressed and happy with this speaker. As a non-audiophile, I love the sound along with the aesthetic. It's very stylish and presented with a lot of classiness. I question how loud it could be in a larger room but the connectivity is super simple. I looked at the instructions and they are easy to understand if you get stuck. They are primarily illustrations of what to press or where things connect but are very easily to follow, so if you're not a tech person, you should not have any issues.I acknowledge this isn't a cheap speaker but I think it looks great, is easy to set up, and sounds really nice. If this fits with your aesthetic, I say go for it. I am really happy with it and I think if I got it as a gift, I would be over the moon.
I think it's safe to say that I'm an edifier fan, I have several products from them and all of them have been absolutely great! I'm probably only missing edifier speakers for my living room tv! This speaker looks amazing, it's a beautiful retro style and has an amazing wood grain finish, a great looking speaker grill, and the knobs and remote look amazing. This speaker screams premium! The sound quality is also pretty nice, it's a great speaker to use inside or outside for barbecues since it can put out quite a lot of sound. Even at it's max volume It didn't distort and so you know this speaker was properly made. Connecting it to my phone is as easy as any other bluetooth speaker too. Fair warning however, this speaker is quite large, I was surprised by how big the box was when I got it. It's almost like a cubic foot if not bigger. Overall though great speaker, would highly recommend and the price is pretty worth it if you're already looking at high end brand speakers. Give edifier a try, I'm sure you'll see why I'm such a fan.
Muito bom

I recently picked up the Edifier S300 Hi‑Fi Tabletop Speaker and couldn’t be happier with the upgrade. The sound quality is superb; clear highs, rich mids, and a solid bass presence that really fills the room. It handles streaming, movies, and music equally well. The retro design fits my desktop setup perfectly and the build quality feels premium from top to bottom. Connectivity is excellent with AirPlay, Bluetooth, USB-C and other inputs, which makes it versatile for all my devices. If you’re looking for a stylish speaker that delivers serious audio performance and works seamlessly for daily use, this is a top-tier choice.

This speaker is excellent, the sound quality and clarity is amazing. However the sound is a little too bassy on the default setting for my liking I will be looking out for a custom sound profile. The Bluetooth connection is stable and I've had no issues with dropped connections. Volume control is easy with your device, the supplied remote or with the speakers control knob. I can't comment on durability for this item but I've had a set of Edifier bookshelf speakers connected to my computer for 12 years and they are still going strong to this day and still sound amazing.
Most of these reviews say very similar positive things about the gorgeous construction and high quality materials. I LOVE the design of the S300 and was hoping I would love the sound just as much. I was wrong. The bass is great. Deep and boomy, yet still tight. The problem is the midrange and high frequencies. The midrange feels very recessed, as all of it is handled by a single woofer. The two tweeters are titanium and here lies the problem for me. The highs are very harsh sounding, even though they are clear. Even after eq’ing multiple settings in the app, the harshness and coldness of the tweeters remain. It’s because of the titanium material they used. It lacks the warmth of a silk dome tweeter. Some may prefer the metallic sound, but I was hoping for a warmer treble. If you are sensitive to harsher treble, this is not for you.I have two other sets of Edifier speakers that I love and they both have the silk dome tweeter. Otherwise this design is gorgeous and I was honestly sad to return it, because I’m a sucker for design. But since I’m a producer as well, I’m more of a sucker for warmth in sound and this was lacking that.
I wanted speakers for a home office during the day and for a small living room at night. The cabinets feel dense and the finish looks premium. Vocals are clear and instruments sit in a wide stage when placed a foot from the wall. Wireless pairing takes a moment and holds steady. Wired inputs are dead quiet. Volume ramps smoothly and the remote is responsive from across the room. After a week of mixed use there is no heat or hum.
The S300 blends vintage charm with cutting-edge audio tech. Its ivory finish and tabletop form factor give it a warm, mid-century vibe, but under the hood it’s all high-res power—LDAC support, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth 5.4, and stereo pairing make it a flexible hub for multi-room setups or solo listening.Sound is rich and detailed, with 80W output that fills the space without distortion. USB-C and AUX inputs cover wired needs, and the included remote makes control easy from across the room. Whether you're streaming lossless tracks or hosting a vinyl-inspired dinner party, this speaker
A me piace, punto.
